So this post is going to be filled with randomness.
First of all, I signed up for the #24in48 readathon. I’ve signed up before, and historically this is a readathon I don’t do well with. I try to get hubby on board, because if he was reading more that weekend, I would read more that weekend. It never fails, I sign up and then something major crops up that takes up most of my Saturday – and Sunday is already packed full of church, band rehearsals, weekly errands, planning for the upcoming week, etc. It’s the day I get stuff done… not a lot of reading time.
Recovering from surgery, I discovered new-to-me TV – the Good Place (so awful it’s good; affiliate link) and Designated Survivor. We’re caught up on the Good Place, and about halfway through Designated Survivor. I also managed to finish the Handmaiden (Hulu), the new season of OitnB (am I the only one that was pretty bored with this season?), and I’m about halfway done with Wentworth’s latest season (netflix). We also finished watching the last, final season of ER (DVD from the library) – it was so boring, we actually didn’t even finish watching the final season, but we’re calling it done. We started rewatching ER about ten years ago; I’m glad we’re finally done! We also finally watched the last four episodes of Madam Secretary, a show we enjoy watching, but we are perpetually behind on. I’m currently binging on Zoo – I have seen the first two seasons, but someone have no memories of the show, so I’m trying to get caught up so we can watch the new season. The only good thing about recovering from surgery is the excuse to get caught up on TV! 🙂
We’re still playing Pokemon. I’m at level 26, and Jon is almost at level 25 – I think, we could both be a level lower. We’ve both been at the same level since our NH vacation in September, when we both went up a level after lots of evolving. We’re definitely not playing daily – or even weekly – more like, when we do play, we’re playing for a good chunk of time. We went to Cape Cod the beginning of May for the weekend, and played most of the weekend, catching lots of new Pokemon, which was great. We also played up in York, Maine right before I had my surgery, which was the first time we did the new raids, which is fun. I’ve managed to get a few things from the raids, but hubby is still not really getting the concept of raids and hasn’t gotten anything from them, yet.
Let’s see, what else? I’ve been switching up my planner system. I’m mainly bullet journaling now (#bujo) but I’m still trying to figure out my system, especially future planning. I think I’m going to purchase two monthly calendars – one will be regular future planning, and the second one will be to keep track of chores/tasks. I’ve used my monthly in my happy planner to keep track of both future events, and when I’ve done tasks, and it’s getting really lost in my bujo. I really need a very simple, very easy, very accessible way to keep track. I also am still using my separate monthly Limelife calendar for my blogging, which is working really well. I feel very sad about not using my Happy Planner, but I don’t really use my planners for “memory keeping” and I have never been able to keep up with more than one planner, so my only option really is to use the monthly spread in the Happy Planner to keep track of the tasks, but that just feels too complicated/too bulky. We’ll see. I’m keeping my #bujo very, very straightforward – no doodles, no artwork, just a couple stickers. I’m hoping once I get my planning system in place, I can work on getting things pretty, but I have to fix the issues first.
