One of my biggest goals for 2017 is to get healthier. I have a bunch of subgoals within that larger goal, but my intention is to get more fit (and hopefully lose weight), get stronger (especially my upper body), to walk more in general (make that step goal more often), and to eventually run a 5k this year. And is usually for me, I need to have a support system built in or I will fail, so I’m participating in the #fitreaders group/challenge, so I’ll (hopefully) remember to do weekly updates.
I’m posting this on Tuesday instead of Tuesday Task It (because I never updated the list), but I’ll hopefully be posting this on a different day each week.
My current daily step goal right now is 7,000. I started at 10,000, dropped to 8,000 and then lowered to 7,000. My plan is to keep it at 7,000 until I can more regularly start hitting my goal, and then I’ll raise it again. It’s much easier for me to hit my goal in the summer, which I think is normal for everyone, but I really struggle in the winter because I’m an apartment dweller, live in a bad area, and it’s incredibly unsafe for me to walk in my area in the winter, where the streets aren’t plowed, let alone the sidewalks cleaned off. Luckily I work in retail, so I am able to get a decent amount of steps from working.
