  1. I can vouch for the quality of this book. Back in the 80’s I made the mistake of reading “E.T. the Extraterrestrial” by William Kotzwinkle before I saw the movie, and the experience shaped my life forever because the book was so much better (entertaining) than the movie. Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton is a similarly good book, and if you enjoyed the screenplay this is a worthwhile read. This book will add greater depth to the story and add a lot to your enjoyment of the movie.

  2. I always thought the film was better than the book. I don’t mean just this film and this book – most films of most books. I couldn’t bring myself to finish a Harry Potter book but I loved the films. I did manage to read the last Hunger Games but preferred the film. It might be because I love dialogue driven plots and visual action more than narratives but I liked Crichton way back in the 70s – I’ll check it out. You might yet get me to change my mind.
