The origins of James Kirk, Spock and the crew of the USS Enterprise from the 2009 film "Star Trek" and how these iconic characters came together in the alternate reality caused by Nero's time travel. This book is the novelization of the 2009 film of the same name.
|I’m a trekkie through and through. I loved the movie & have watched it at least 20 times, probably more like 35 or 40 times. I enjoy reading Star Trek books, too. But, I was disappointed in this book – it read more like a movie script, then an actual book. The author added absolutely nothing to the book, and almost every line the character speaks in the book, is word for word the line in the movie. I would have liked to have seen a more in-depth look at the characters – more “why” and less action.|
